The record for covering the maximum distance on a tandem bicycle was set by Mali Usha Vinodbhai (born on June 9, 2002) of Surat, Gujarat, along with her friend. They started circumnavigating Sri Lanka by cycling from Negombo Beach (Sri Lanka) on April 29, 2024, travelled through Matara Beach, Hambantota Beach, Pooppalapillai, Mannar town, Murunkan town, Puttalam town and reached Negombo Beach on May 14, 2024; covering 1,415.27 km on a tandem bicycle in 16 days.
